I have often been asked about the hikes I take and the wildflowers I see and photograph on those hikes.  When the opportunity to have a website arose, I thought that would be the perfect opportunity to answer those kinds of questions in an easily accessible manner.  That’s not to say that I won’t be tempted–and give in to that temptation–to showcase some other of my photographs, taken on trips away from home or even in my backyard.

In fact, because of many requests, I have added a new page on Arctic wildflowers to this website.

I own several wildflower books, but the one I always recommend is Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest by Mark Turner and Phyllis Gustafson.  It is well laid out and the pictures are very good.

There are many photographs of flowers on each page and in most cases are formatted as a slide show, so give the images the opportunity to roll over at 5 second intervals.

Click on Central Oregon Hikes above to see the list in more or less chronological order.

Please note that sometimes the text has done some creative placement on its own.  I’m in the process of trying to fix that.
